On a boat, an allegory of America, draped on the left, wearing a star-spangled crown on a raised bun, and an allegory of France, draped on the left, wearing a Phrygian cap. Opposite them, at the oarsman’s station, the winged genius of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap. In the background, the statue La Liberté éclairant le monde by Bartholomé and other light boats celebrating the statue’s inauguration.
